No 7 Squadron was one of only 10 founder Squadrons of the RFC that were awarded the privilege of designated "colours" for Squadron ties/cummerbunds/blazers etc. The colours of a silver ground (as on the RFC Tie) , with black and sky blue tie stripes is as the design was awarded to 7 squadron in 1914 reflecting the aspects of the Squadron's motto; Day - Sky Blue, Night - Black. Bow and Straight ties each cost just £27:50p including UK postage.
